I've always felt I was born in the wrong era, being a child of the 1980's I've always been far more engaged and in touch with the magic of previous decades. Afternoons as a teenager were spent watching the grace of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, adoring Vivian Leigh to Gene Turney. Most often I would be watching black and white movies while crafting - I began cross stitching when I was five and later taught myself how to crochet after inheriting all my grandmothers supplies.
In 2009 I began collecting vintage powder compacts after uncovering five in my gran's collection - no one knew of their existence but they captured my interest and my collection has increase to over 50 compacts spanning the early 1900's to the 1980's and from four countries. Hunting for vintage powder compacts in charity shops i'd come across piles of old vintage, unwanted crochet patterns - I had to rehome them. I'd love reading and looking at all the timeless black and white images of the chosen designs admiring the glamour of the models, the ladies and their homes.
Fast forward a good couple of years and my dream to re-home any of the vintage patterns I come across to a loving and crafty home. Whether they end up being used or just looked at, knowing these patterns are going on to a better life makes my day.
I have many, many more patterns both crochet, sewing and knitting based that I don't have online. If there's any patterns in particular your searching for let me know I might just have one suitable!
